ポスターは通常、紙にインクを乗せる（プラス）工程で印刷されるが、本作ではレーザーカッターを印刷機として用いてマーメイド紙を焼き切る（マイナス）工程によって図像を描いている。マイナスの工程を経ることでグラフィック的な二次元図像が三次元環境の影響を受ける余地が生じ、人の流れや風の影響を受けてさざ波のような動きが生じる。ポスターというメディアの特性をミニマムに突き詰めることで、平面とされるメディアであっても空間に存在するという事実が強調される。
Posters are usually printed by the (positive) process of putting ink on paper, but in this work, the graphic image is drawn by the (negative) process of burning off the mermaid paper using a laser cutter as a printing machine. The negative process creates room for the graphic two-dimensional image to be influenced by the three-dimensional environment, and the flow of people and the wind create ripple-like movements. By minimising the characteristics of the poster medium, the fact that the medium exists in space is emphasised, even if it is considered to be flat.
